There’s a  food drive at the Goose Community Grocery and it will last through the weekend! The Good Cheer Bus will be located in the parking lot and will be available for donations between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

The Goose Community Grocery is located at Bayview Center on South Whidbey Island, on Highway 525 near Bayview Road. Completely rebuilt during summer 2009, The Goose is the result of a one-of-a-kind partnership between Goosefoot, a non-profit organization, and The Myers Group, a family-owned business.

The Goose is proud to carry food items locally produced on Whidbey Island, specially marked throughout the store. A robust bulk foods section features a wide variety of nuts, grains and legumes; vegetable oils; honey; and more.

You can click on the above photo to view a video from KING-TV about buying local on Whidbey Island. This is a story about a cooperative of five ranchers selling beef under the “Whidbey Island Grown” brand. The ranchers and The Goose are bringing you local beef!

I hear that locally grown produce is the next step!

If your shopping at the Goose this weekend remember that the Good Cheer Van is in the parking lot waiting for your donations:)

Good Cheer!
